Evolve Organic review Pt. II - Body Care

So here we go, part two of the Evolve Organic Beauty review. This post will focus on the body care products I have purchased from this small UK-based organic skincare brand. Make sure you check out the first part of the review if you haven‘t already here. In that post I go more into the detail about the brand itself and review 6 skincare products that I have tried and tested.
So let‘s jump right into part two!

All of my body care products by Evolve Beauty

Tropical Blossom Body Polish

„This oil based body polish contains fine particles of organic sugar to buff skin to smooth perfection and natural Tahitian coconut Monoi macerated in exotic Tahitian blossoms of Gardenia. Natural sugar extracts gently combine with water to turn the clear balm into a creamy milk that rinses away clean, leaving skin smooth, soft and fragranced with exotic natural hibiscus. This product comes in 30ml and 180ml glass jars. It‘s a sugar based exfoliating body scrub that smells divine. A bit like tropical bubblegum. You apply it to dry skin and massage it in, then you wet your hands and scrub all over again, this will turn the body polish into a creamy milk-like consistency and then you rinse it off. It left my skin very soft and smooth and the smell lasts quite a while too. I like the special consistency that this product has. It feels very luxurious and makes you feel like you‘re in a spa somewhere warm by the beach. I used this product whenever I felt like really pampering myself and when not any old scrub would do. A special occasions scrub if you like.
I do highly recommend this product, especially in combination with the next product.

Tropical Blossom Body Butter

This body butter comes in 30ml and 120ml glass jars. It has the exact same smell as the body polish mentioned above, they are in fact a set and I definitely recommend getting them together. This body butter is so silky smooth and feels just as luxurious as the body polish. After hopping out of the shower and having used the body polish I have used the body butter straight away to keep that soft smooth feeling that the polish gives you. The body butter absorbs into the skin easily and obviously amplifies the smell that the polish has left by quite a bit. The butter goes on smooth and leaves your skin hydrated without feeling oily, which I  have experienced with other body butters. This is a definite plus for me! Get both of these products together as they really complement each other and make you feel like a real queen.

Citrus Blend Aromatic Wash

Organic Aloe Vera nourishes the skin and calms irritation. This product comes in 50ml and 250ml PET bottles. They are made from recyclable plastic because the risk of dropping these bottles in the shower is very high and if they were made from glass that would be very dangerous. The big bottle has a pump which makes usage very easy either as hand or body wash, which it can both be used for. The aromatic wash is a clear colourless gel and lathers mildly, producing a soft and smooth foam. It cleanses very gently and leaves the skin feeling soft and definitely not stripped of oils. The smell is very refreshing, a mix of citrusy and woodsy elements making it great for a wake up boost in the shower in the morning. I really like this product as I love this type of smell most for my shower products. I am not a fan of heavy and sweet smells in the morning, they make me feel drowsy, so this is the perfect kick that I need.

African Orange Aromatic Wash

This product comes in the exact same packaging as the Citrus Blend Aromatic Wash. They are basically the same thing just with different smells. This one has a warmer but still citrusy smell with a warm woodsy note. While still being slightly refreshing this smell is perfect for an evening shower in my opinion, soothing the senses and cuddling you up in a sweet warm smell that is no where near overpowering. The qualities are the same as for the Citrus Blend, so I like it just the same. Both these smells are also available as body lotions, which I haven‘t purchased but if shower gel and body lotion combos are your thing, then make sure to check them out.

Satin Body Gloss

„This beautifully fragranced lightweight multi purpose silicone-free dry oil for body, face and hair is designed to lovingly nourish the skin and deliver a satin like finish in a convenient easy to apply spray mist.

Organic Camellia Seed Oil and tropical Tahitian Monoi impart a satiny gloss to the skin and hair without any greasiness. Mineral mica and titanium add a hint of gold sparkle and shimmer (so don't forget to shake the bottle before use). Fragranced with a 100% natural Rose, Lavandin, Jasmine, Orange blossom fragrance with a heart of delicious vanilla and woody notes.“ (Taken from the Evolve Beauty website)

This product comes in 30ml and 100ml glass bottles with a spray pump. For the big bottle you have the option to order one without a pump in case it’s your second purchase and you intend to reuse the pump (added eco bonus). This oil based shimmer spray smells (again) like a holiday in a distant tropical land spent by the beach. It’s a soft sweet smell of flowers, where rose and monoi really stand out, with a subtle earthy woodsy undernote that really rounds off the composition. It feels spiritual and you can definitely apply it in that way. Use it to be part of your skin care ritual. It will, like the Tropical Blossom combo, make you feel like a queen or a goddess. I love using it on summer evenings when going out and wanting to feel fancy. I apply it after a shower after a long day in the sun to add sparkle to the night. It’s like carrying the sunrays over to the dark. I have used it on both skin and hair. I loved it on the skin, not so much on the hair. No matter how little of an amount I took it would still make my hair look greasy and weigh it down. Maybe I am not doing it right but I can’t get it to work for me on the hair. I am fine with this though as I wouldn’t normally add a product like this to my hair, I only tried it because it said you could and so I will ;) Eitherway I will continue to use this shimmering oil as soon as spring and summer come around again and I feel like sparkling myself up! It makes the skin look radiant and healthy, with a subtle glow that is especially pronounced if you stand in direct sunlight, that’s when the shimmer particles really start to shine. It absorbs into the skin quickly leaving it feel nice and moisturised, not at all oily or sticky and making it smell divine. Definitely recommend!

Sunless Glow Body Lotion

This product comes in 50ml and 250ml PET bottles, due to the risk of dropping a glass bottle with slippery lotion hands. This product is a self tanner. Now my opinion on self tanners isn‘t that good... until I found this one. And I know that sounds like every commercial that you hear on TV so I will explain to you why I feel this way. When we think of self tanner we think of orange, bad smell and patchiness. What does this product do? Well none of those three! The thick lotion is best applied to freshly exfoliated skin after the shower. It smells kinda fruity with just the tiniest hint of something „chemical“, it‘s okay though, it‘s not at all unpleasant or choking me up. I apply it evenly all over and let it do its thing. No need to rinse off after a few hours, no need to worry about it developing weirdly. It just does its thing! The company themselves say that it will take some applications to see a result, I think that just one already shows a difference for me (which might be because I am pretty pale...) of course I won‘t go from white to chocolate milk tanned in one application. But what I like is that this product just kind of imitates what a day in the sun would do to your skin, just that in my case my skin takes about three weeks in the sun until I show any signs of a tan at all. So I just used this over night and tadaa I actually look like I spend two or three hours outside. It just looks natural, it even looks like the colour my skin will go when it does tan. It‘s not at all orange for me, it gives a rather olive toned tan that I really like, it fits with the yellow undertones of my warm skin. Si I do see results over night but they will intensify over the next days and will for sure get stronger the more often you apply it. Now to the smell, about an hour or two after you apply it, it will start to smell more pronounced but that also only lasts for about half an hour or an hour, after that the kinda chemical smell fades completely. You can‘t even compare it to the smell you get from any other self tanner. I have tried other organic ones and even those where horrifying, not to speak of conventional ones. So my opinion? This product is a godsend for fair people like me. I am not sure about people who have a naturally more tanned skin, they would have to test it for themselves to see if they get anything out of it, but for all you pale roses out there, get your hands on this thing, you won‘t regret it! At least I don‘t!
